Why Move to Blackburn
A large and historic town in Lancashire, Blackburn lies to the North of the stunning West Pennine Moors, a Site of Special Scientific Interest, near the beautiful Ribble Valley. Never having forgotten its roots, Blackburn is full of history. From the hidden ‘All Hallows Spring’ at the site of a Roman Temple to its links with the textile industry dating back to the middle of the 13th Century.
Today the town has undergone some significant development, with the Council approving several multimillion-pound projects to renovate and improve many public areas. The Blackburn Shopping Centre, now known as The Mall Blackburn, has been renovated, now home to over 120 shops, restaurants and cafes. Close by, a new site has been built to house the expanding Blackburn Market.
Blackburn certainly offers good travel connections, which is often a vital factor to consider when moving to a new area, particularly for those commuting to other areas. The town centre bus station provides a network of local buses connecting local towns and villages across Lancashire and beyond.
The town is only a short drive from the M6 and M65 motorway, making Blackburn extremely easy to reach and an ideal base for exploring further afield. With Blackpool, the Ribble Valley, the Yorkshire Dales, Liverpool and Manchester all within an hour’s drive, as well as Preston, Burnley and Bolton all being within 14 miles, Blackburn is clearly well connected.
With its range of amenities, convenient transport links and ongoing developments to further improve the facilities and infrastructure of the town Blackburn is certainly developing into an extremely desirable area.
