Hinckley & District Museum – Step back in time and visit this very interesting museum. You can walk through the old thatched cottages which date from the 17th century. The cottages are the most complete examples of half-timbered buildings of the time remaining in Hinckley today.

There are three cottages together which house the museum. You will be amazed at the displays and pieces of machinery in show, such as the knitting frames, still in excellent condition. Regular events are held and include staff dressing in the attire of the 17th Century, children can get involved in “wash day” and have a go at washing on a wash board. Ghost walks are held in the little town at night and the museum is on the trail. Not to be missed.

Burbage Common and Woods – Located on the edge of Hinckley, this beautiful wood is ideal for walkers, dog lovers and families. 200 acres of unspoilt woodlands with trails and pathways. Children will love exploring and spotting the woodpeckers, tree creepers, ducks and buzzards.

Depending on the season, there are some pretty flowers to spot too such as wild bluebells and orchids. There is a play area and a coffee shop. Free parking makes this a really low cost way to spend a few hours.
