Maldon is located on the Blackwater estuary and has a fascinating and diverse history. Offering a vibrant community and an array activities, if you are considering a move to the town, Maldon will keep you busy for years to come.
The main High Street has a good range of amenities and boasts many medieval timber-framed buildings. The tower of St Peters, erected in 1704, was originally a library and home to Maldon Grammar School. Things to do in Maldon
Maldon offers a range of exciting activities to both residents and tourists.
The thriving farmer’s market in the town centre attracts plenty of visitors to the town, as do the regularly held general market and antique and collectors’ fairs.
Promenade Park is a popular place to visit featuring avenues of beautiful trees and large open areas which lead to an ornamental lake with fountains and swans.
There is a splash park, crazy golf and a huge wooden pirate ship for the little ones. Special events are also held in the park throughout the year such as the Maldon Mud Race. Great fun to take part in and to watch.
Maldon also has several fascinating museums to visit including the incredibly popular Stow Maries. A WW1 military aviation museum based at Maldons aerodrome.
It celebrates the importance of the early air forces in the Great War of 1914-1918. Visitors can explore the early days of British military aviation through award-winning exhibitions and annual events.
