    Why Move to Runcorn

Runcorn is an industrial town and cargo port in the Borough of Halton in Cheshire. Sitting on the southern bank of the River Mersey where the estuary narrows to form the Runcorn Gap, the town has a rich industrial history and strong links with Liverpool.
Known for the Silver Jubilee Bridge, Runcorn is a transport hub for the region. The town’s railway station is a key link on the West Coast main line.

Liverpool is just 7 miles away and several major towns are also nearby. These include Widnes (4 miles) and Warrington (9 miles) and the walled city of Chester is (16 miles) and the large city of Manchester (30 miles).

Many residents choose to commute to these larger towns and cities; however, the majority of local employment is in chemical industries, logistics, manufacturing, and service industries.

Although an industrial town, Runcorn is by no means dull. Geographically, it has plenty of open green areas that break up dense housing locations, including a heathland and large park. The North West region has access to the Lake District, Pennines, and the Scottish and Welsh Borders, as well as some fabulous coastline to discover.

There are also many options for a great days shopping at Runcorn Shopping City and Trident Retail Park, as well as a host of smaller and independent stores in the town.
Life is lived at a slower pace in Runcorn.

Taking everything into consideration, less crowding, lower cost of living, excellent amenities, stunning places to visit, and beautiful fresh air, your quality of life is likely to improve by moving to the North West town of Runcorn.

One of the best primaries according to Ofsted is Pewithall School. Ofsted concluded that “the school’s overall performance has been maintained at an outstanding level over a significant period. The school is rightly highly regarded by parents and the local community”.

Many secondaries are “good” says Ofsted with The Cavendish High Academy having been awarded an “outstanding” rating. It has also been awarded the AFA Quality Mark Award.

A sought after award which recognises the crucial role that Physical Education, School Sport and Physical Activity (PESSPA) play in the lives of children and how it impacts on their whole school improvement.

Riverside College provides further education for the town. Offering a good assortment of courses, it has been given the highest possible rating by Ofsted who have judged the college to be “outstanding”.
