Weston-Super-Mare also known as just Weston, is a popular seaside town in the county of Somerset. Perhaps its most famous assets are its safe sandy beach, one of the UK’s longest natural stretches of sand, and the towns fantastic pier, both of which attract throngs of visitors every year.
There have been settlements in the region for thousands of years and many artefacts of Iron Age settlers have been unearthed in the area.
Early in the 19th century, Weston was a small village of about 30 houses, today the population is approximately 77,000.
Its exponential growth and prosperity were initially due to the Victorian boom in seaside holidays and this popularity continues to this day.
One of the most attractive things for those moving to the area is Weston’s relatively cheap cost of living; you can buy a home for between £100,000 and £200,000, significantly less than a home in London or indeed many other towns across the region.

Things to do in Weston Super Mare
Culture vultures, history buffs, thrill-seekers, and shopaholics alike will find something to keep them entertained in and around Weston.
Several events take place annually, including the National Water Ski Races, a three-day helicopter festival and the exciting motorcycle beach race.
The town’s main beach, a vast stretch of golden sand, lies south of the Grand Pier and during the summer season visitors flock here to partake in all the traditional Great British seaside activities such as donkey rides and amusement arcades. The promenade is lined with fish and chip shops and ice cream stalls.
When you tire of the beach, you can explore the four Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty which are contained in the county of Somerset. The most well-known being Exmoor National Park, an area of deep valleys, ancient woodland, beaches and coves. It also boasts the highest cliffs in England, with stunning views out to sea.
